A Fun Splashy Card and Two Freebies !

I recently made a fun card for a friend of mine venturing back to school.  So the card ia a pun, Lots of colors and cheerful:

My coloring style is nothing fancy - I have lots of yummy things to play with and
I do just that - play!
If you are interested in learning and or enhancingyouru coloring skills, check out Kit and Clowder FB group - they have lots of free lessons, pay for lessons and tons of inspiration!  Today They are even having an Advent Giveaway!

For this card Alcohol marker on Heavenly White #120, I also used the same paper for the base.
This stamp is an oldie in my stash and Since it was unmounted I have no idea who makes it - it is a background stamp.  I stamped and heat embossed two images, colored and fussy cut by hand.
Paper Temptress also has a wonderful sale on their site this week.

As promised  freebies:

Winter Tags

I love making tags and ATC's.  There are so many ways these can be made and so many ways they can be used! Today I used several of my Gecko Galz images to create a Christmas and a Winter tag.
All you need is a little bit of paper and a little bit of bling and lace bits - perfect for Stash Busting!

My Christmas Tag:

I cut a piece of Paper Temptress Jelly Bean Green for my tag  base and printed my tag images on Heavenly White 80#

Christmas card toppers

Heat embossed it with white powder and white ink -  and the added a 3" width of vintage lace

To hold the glue dow I used "Best Glue Ever"  this is great stuff for fabric adhesion!

I fussy cut the medallion image from the collage sheet and added crystal effects.  One thing so nice about using quality digitals you can size things to suit your project!

I then added sequins and glitter and gold foil:

For my Winter Tag, I used a standard office tag for my base  and a lot of distress ink, until I was happy with the colors

I Love playing with the distress inks!

Combined and printed my images.
Tore the edges and distressed

I added specialty glitter using  Best Glue Ever

Plus a little silver foil flake edges

Natures bliss

I'm just getting settled from my trip away from home and really enjoyed making these tags, I hope you find time over the holidays to give it a try!
Thanks for stopping by!

A Journaling Jump Start and a Freebie

My daughter Lissa and I have decided to start Journaling a personal study of the Book of Proverbs. I love doing Bible Journaling, and have worked it into my study life, I will be sharing that with you here more often as I am using it as an outreach and teaching tool.  For this study of proverbs I wanted to journal but not in an artful way.  For years my sister Robin and I have been reading the chapter of Proverbs that corresponds with the day of the month.  I just somehow never grows old!  I wanted to start doing this with Lis too.  So this is the plan I have come up with, it is very simple! I purchased a weekly planner at Barnes and Nobel - this is a great time of the year to do this!

I created a label for it

This is a coloring planner - I'm not planning on coloring it - this type of coloring is very time consuming for me.  I purchased this one because I love the color and feel of the paper and the weekly /daily slots suited what I want to do.  There are so many planners to choose from!

and an Extra Treat: I was able to find a vintage Scofield Leatherbound (original edition) in the KJV for under $10.00!  This is a great size bible for carrying and the paper and typeface are an easy read.

I am simply underlining in the bible the verse that speaks to me for the day and then either writing that verse or a thought in the day's slot.

My daily routine of Bible reading in the morning is OT, Proverbs, NT.  I also have several studies going on and preparation for lessons.  So yes it is a lot of time in the Word - the benefits are not only here- but eternal and I love it!

Thanks for stopping by and in case you would like a "Prayer Journal" label,
I am happy to share mine!

Have a Wonderful Day!

I Am Back! And a Freebie

I'm back - I've spent the last six weeks in Fort Walton Beach Florida and this is why:

Welcome to the world Aiden Isaiah

Aiden was born on 11/21/2017 at 8lbs and 21 inches and I think is the sweetest baby ever!

I stayed to help get ready and help out after the birth.
Aiden's family is doing great too!
I had the great privilege of attending the birth and helped "catch the baby".  It is something I will never forget and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life!

 4 days old.

I'm missing this sweet family, but very happy to be back home and my life returning to normal!

Tomorow a sketch challenge!

A Fun Day and A Lot of Cards Made

I recently went to a Stamping get together that I found through Split Coast Stampers.  I have made some great friends with this group and I'm really thankful to have this creative outlet!
One of my swaps was for a "No Vendor Required" swap.  which means I can pick the vendor and supplies.  Naturally one of my picks was Magenta!
for these 16 cards, I used to Magenta Stamps.  Here is the card and if you'd like to read on I go into more process detail.

I stamped out and colored  my images

This one I stamped and cut the area I wanted to use

for the flower, I colored with alcohol marker and glitter brush pens

I did these in a production style mannor

Stamped and cut my background papers, assembled and added to card bases

For the small bird, I added a lot of glossy accents to each one to give it a tile appearance.

I really enjoyed making these cards for the swap, there was just so much room for color play with these beautiful images!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you can find some local stamping events too!
Have a great day!
