Whats On Your Work Desk # 473 and a Freebie!

Image
I've been missing for a month or so from Julia's World Wide blog hop of crafting spaces for the same reason I went missing for a year or so - moving!  This time I had the happy event of moving my mother from her home in Connecticut to our home in New York.  can I say I am sick of moving?  I thought at least this one won't touch my craft room.  I was wrong!  While I was away I had ordered a few second hand sets of stamps, I won't go into detail, Steve reads my blog 😆. and then there was the new cable service, new phone service and new internet service.  I am so fortunate Steve can do all this stuff and he worked so hard. Here is one of my work areas: I was pretty tired from the move, but I couldn't wait to get back into my craft room - and find my new normal.  After two days of unpacking and rearranging the house, I got back downstairs to my little haven. Wires all cleverly tucked away Dry desk, a finished card for a sketch challenge Wet de

A few more cards for the Hospital Challenge over at Christian Card Makers. this is an oldie but goodie stamp, and the background paper is from a pad at AC Moore. I stamped the butterfly twice to make a pop out.  Colored with Alcohol Marker and then painted with clear nail polish that has superfin golf glitter in it.  I also made the fun batch of cards while I was in CT.  I purchase a "Kit" similar to the ones I make and just had fun making cards with a new sentiment set.  And here is a freebie for your papercrafting: Happy First Day Of Summer! I  am glad to support these types

Making a Fancy Card With The Best Glue Ever and a Freebie

Image
Today I have made a very fancy card using unusual materials, I will show you the card and then share the process: About 8 years ago a local store called the Final Markdown sold folio binder papers, 100 for $1.00  This was a faux leather finish 120# cover weight, 9x12.  It was really gorgeous, I bought at all that they had!  about 50 reams.  I sold it in my Maxam Made Studio shop, gave tons away and now I am down to the last 25 sheets.  Don't you just love coming across a great deal like that? I can't wait till the next one happens! I made four of these cards using that paper on my Cricut.  I used the German carbide blade and the poster board setting.  I had expected the cutting to go just fine and it did.  What was more complicated was adhering the paper lace to the background cardstock with a polished finish and delicate lacework.  Using the tiniest amount of Best Glue Ever and the ultra fine writing tip I was able to precisely position the glue on the back of th
