Happy New Year!

I hope everyone has had a great week, if not well then I hope this week will be better and that the New Year will be your best ever!  Last year was not the best ever for my family, but like other trials and tribulations that we have gone through we have come to the end of the year, stronger, healthier and happier.  Steve and I have been through a lot together, together we made it through! We always look forward with a happy expectation of a coming new year.

We've had a happy house full, my kids from the west coast are here for 8 wonderful days!  I'll post family pictures tomorrow, I need to get a shot of some of the more photo shy members..

In between cooking and caring I did get some crafting time in yesterday and made the following cards:

This card is for an an OSA Swap " anyway but folded in half  mingles"

This is a 6" petal card, the inside opens to a card that opens again - hatch like..

This card is for a monthly mingle color- motif challenge
It was supposed to be Black and Red and Gold and a snake.  Well I don't have a problem with snakes in real life, but I have yet to find one of a rubber stamp that I liked. So I opted to just do the colors and use a horse:

This for another OSA swap, "Black and one other color" the other Color for January is Yellow (bet you couldn't have guessed that):

Tonight we will be going to a church service which we normally do on New Years Eve. It is a wonderful way to say good by to an old year and hello to a new one. Trials come and go in all our lives. The One who remains faithful and true is our Saviour and Redeemer, Jesus, the Giver of life, in this world and the world Eternal.  I appreciate all the wonderful things He has given me, including the time and ability to share my life in Him with you.
God Bless you Abundantly this New Year and May it be Joyful and Happy!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas!  Thank you for sharing your time with me, in the last 9 months I've had almost 5,000 visitors and that actually amazes me!  Blogging has been a wonderful experience, especially this year when my life seemed to be in a blender on high for more than half of it.  All is well and I can take a moment to be thankful and appreciative.  I appreciate the many, many Blessings The Lord had showered on my this year. His staying power in the time of crisis and His abiding joy when the morning  and answers don't come soon enough.  I hope my blog has been helpful and possibly inspiring to you and that you have felt the time you invested in reading it payed you a dividend.  I love all of the comments that are posted and they help me develop as an artist and author.

I celebrate the Redeemer, born of a virgin in a humble stable, the Baby who came to became a man and  bore our sins so that we might be free of the curse of sin and live with Him in Eternity.

I thought of this Scripture from Psalm 103

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender    mercies.

My he Crown you with His Great Love and Tender Mercy this Christmas season and throughout eternity!

with Love and Thanks,
Ginny

Thursday

I missed my "Work Desk Weds".  Not because I wasn't working , but because I was.  I finished all 93 of my Christmas cards.  A Batch cards for sale and started making Christmas presents.  I also tried something fun with my embossing machine ! I had cut a lovely piece of gold wrapping paper the Wrong size for the gift I was going to wrap, so I cut it into 5x6 pieces and put them through my embossing machine with wonderful results!

After Embossing

Cards made with the sheets: Luke getting in the picture....

Not getting enough attention, it is WALK time!  and Yes that is how tall he is, his big head over my desk!  When he wants attention he puts his head under my elbow and flips it up!

A set of shadow boxes I made for my mom:

These are 4x6 and my mother is very fond of Asian art also.

I started organizing my Stickles and Liquid Pearls.  The stitckles here are resting on double sided dimensional tape that I use for card making, it is really some type of auto adhesive that is wonderful for working with.  And CHEAP. 4 dollars for a roll the size of an Album.

Here I used Velcro to put up my Liquid pearls on the underside of my ink pad hold which is on a wall at the side of my work desk.

I made this on Tuesday for the Oriental Stamp Arts Challenge:

And Now with getting on with the preparations for Christmas.  We won't be doing a lot of shopping this Christmas  and I won't be making Christmas dinner till next Thursday when Roy and Megan Come home.  Until then we are busy with caroling and Church events and making things and enjoying our Family and friends. I hope you are all enjoying this season.  For us Christmas is 365 days a year, We Celebrate Jesus every day and are thankful for all that he has done for us!

Thanks for stopping by!

Little ATC images I like

A little inked up

Liners and bases, these white bases are my 100# bright white and they are so nice and heavy they give the card a great quality feeling, this is my favorite weight for the card bases!   New Craft mat here, I paid 7.99 for it at Aldies grocery store, is is an oven liner!  Works great as a craft mat too!

All done!  aren't they cute?  I use my ATG gun and adhere a business card on the inside with my thank you!

Re'dos

How is everyone doing this busy holiday season?  Mine really won't start until tomorrow, then the decorations come out,, and the Jolly begins!  We don't go crazy this time of the year, because we are pentecostal we spend all year long celebrating the Saviour, and don't get real involved with the commercialism of the times.  We do have lots of fun, but I never mind putting the tree away!

On Monday I went through my made card file, and discovered a lot of cards I really don't like and hadn't sent out.  either they just didn't say mail me I'm going to make someone smile or they were having construction issues.
on one batch I discovered all the dimensional foamies dried up and with very little effort the item fell off the card!  Booo! some the paper had gotten wavy? other just were BLAH!   I've been back to stamping  for about two years and started doing a lot of mailings a year and a half ago.  So a current project right now is rebuilding/ remaking/trashing old cards.  Here is one before and after:

Before  Bad color choice of paper, DULL!!  this bow is huge!  over all pretty boring in an A7 Size.

No wonder I hadn't mailed it!  here is the after:

This went out in the mail as a birthday card.   Unfortunately I redid  did about 20 different cards and didn't take pictures.  But In the same line, I am making cards with Leftovers in the next few days, so I will photo those and post them!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

WOYWW #182 and a lot of redos!!

It is WOYWW#182!!  The free flight trip of  craft desks around the world!  You can go here:  http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/To start your  hop!    My work desk was a little hectic today (it is Tuesday night here) I worked on a half dozen pairs of cards I needed for different people.

And needed to have my PC worked on, I kept getting a dll file error and it was slowing the works down!  My dear Husband took the time tonight to take care of it for me, while I worked at the counter top.

My First set of cards I made in part yesterday and redid today;
It was an OSA challenge and I liked the idea but the card just didn't look right to me so today I redid it:

The New card was larger in size, and I added a layer on the 100# paper instead of 80# it is A7.

The next was a pair of Geisha cards ( tomorrow I am going to make cards that are not Asian themed, I am hooked on this beautiful motif!  I need to use my other rubber before it dries up)!

The first attempt was another fail, I used a glaze on it and it just looked awful, I was a little disappointed because it is going out tomorrow and I wanted it to be especially lovely, it had to be with that writing on it! So I ripped it down and did another focal, the same as the first sans the glaze.
I lost the faces, and it just looked like a gloppy mess.

This is better:

You can see the difference, I will do the other the one on the left a little later.

While my desk was still occupied:

My supervisor told me to make something he'd like

he approved.
And then there are the 90:

Our Christmas cards that I must get done!
Ahhh Tomorrow!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!
