A Sweet Butterfly Card for Many Occasions

Hi everyone, today I have made a sweet butterfly card for many occasions.  I like to keep a stash of cards that I can write out and get into the mail if I am in a hurry. I also like to make cards in batches to give as thank you or appreciation gifts.  This card would work for both, It was fast and fun to make.  I used Magenta Stamps and a piece of scrap paper from my stash

I stamped directly on to the paper using Versafine Clair ink and my stamping tool.

The butterfly is stamped colored with alcohol markers and then fussy cut and added onto the card.

A little bling and glitter and I have an all occasion card!

The stamps I used:

A classic Magenta

New in the Spring line

How to Make a Bold Masculine Birthday Card.

Because I own several Cricut products, I get a lot of emails to sell me more Cricut products.  I also get notification of freebies for my machines, and like that!  I'm always making birthday cards and recently I got a great  Freebie for birthday cards.  Today I am going to show you how I made a super fast masculine Birthday card.

I'll show you the card and then the process:
I really wanted to use this Beautiful Nero Incandescent paper by paper temptress as a special focal paper, it is black with a gold shimmer`it is really beautiful! This is a #76cover weight paper and cuts perfectly on the electronic cutting machine and hand cutting dye machine ( I use both!).  Due to my lighting this looks browner than black in this picture. But It is blck with gold shimmer, and just a touch of texture!

I selected a card base, layering, and focal papers

I stamped a watermark image using my Misti and a TH stamp

This was the first time I have used this ink pad, it is a dye base white, I wasn't sure how well it would work.

It worked great!

I die cut my Happy Birthdays ( this was the Cricut freebie)

And using my Best Glue Ever  I was able to easily dot on the right amount of glue- here I am using the no-clog cap, I keep several bottles on hand one with this fine line no-clog cap and one with the regular tip

It goes on perfect! and one thing I love using Best Glue Ever, it something is not straight the first time, I have a few seconds to fix it - unlike using  ATG tape!

this fine cut lays perfectly flat

Along with all the layers - no rumpling!

The SVG cut is part of Cricut Access, so if you are a member you can find it over on the Cricut Design Studio.  when I am making masculine cards, they tend to have darker stronger colors on a trick to keep them from looking dismal is to keep your color contrasting high.  This high contrast will draw the eye and have an overall pleasing look.  dark colors can easily look muddy and dismal if the contrast isn't high.
I hope you found this post helpful to your card making,

My card for today using Karen's beautiful verse:

I created this card using a piece of printed scrapbook paper.  I love making cards using these beautiful images!

It is not difficult I cut the paper to the size of the card front and then create a template in Publisher    ( you can use word or any program of that type). Basically, I eyeball where I want the image to be and then print on a piece of vellum. I overlay the vellum on to the image to make sure it is where I want it, tweak and then print.  I keep that vellum for a future card overlay.
This little trick can really help you use some of those beautiful photo papers!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you join in the Word Art Wednesday Challenge!

Hello everyone!  Since we are still seeing snow here in New York, I really wanted to make a pretty spring card!

This card is really very simple and fast to make, I started with a piece of 130# watercolor paper and lightly coated it with Distress Ink.

Next, I stamped my beautiful Pansies Stamp on 30# vellum.

I colored the back side of the image - you can be very free with the color.

Added my sentiment
coloring on the reverse side is almost like magic!

A bit of lace for the trim.

A few rhinestones...

and my card is done!

How to Make a fun Elephant card and a Digital card Freebie

Ever forget a birthday?  I do it far to often!  I recently joined  an Elephant Card swap, and since Elephants are reputed to have a good memory, I thought I would make it a belated birthday card!

I printed the image I created on  Kraft card stock by Neenah

And simply colored with a few colored pencils and gamesol

I picked a few peices of paper from my stash and used ScraPerfect's Best Glue Ever™  to hold it all together.

The DP paper is from  a 6x6 stack by basic gray called Granola - one of my favorites!  From 2008!

my finished card is 4.75x6, I enjoy making larger cards ( more room to work with)!
A little Chipped Sapphire distress ink around the edges.

Here is the digital you can use for your late birthday cards!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
