A Quick Trick for Making Large Batches of Layered Cards and a Background Freebie

For our monthly women's prayer and study breakfast this month we started a new series is on wellness. We had a wonderful guest speaker and a great healthy breakfast.

I made these fridge magnets as table favors.
I want to share a little trick on paper aligning:

The cardboard is cut to size and placed in corner of a small scorer with adhesive.

I hover the covering paper over the cardboard and just fit it flush into the corner - it lines everything up perfectly! Simple!

These are about 5x5. one silver and one gold.

And a freebie for you!

thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a happy and safe weekend!

What's on Your Work Desk Wednesday and a Freebie

Since I am able to spend time at my craft desk again I thought I would play along in WOYWW!  It is a worldwide blog hop of desky tours.  Why?  Well, it is fun and I think we all like to see what we are doing! Join the fun over at Julias Stamping ground, the posts are short and sweet.  Here is my desk as of last night, it has all gone in the mail.

The desk

Some of the cards made
I try to send these to widows and a few single friends

Some new stamps to play with on the desk

The side desk

my workspace is a small combination of three desks and two cabinets - this way I can swivel to my computer, to the desk, to supplies.  I don't keep everything at reach - that way I must get off my chair every so often.  I share my space with my sewing, quilting, embroidery hobby too.  It is a little crowded but I am warm and have good lighting!  I am blessed!

And here is a little gift for your paper crafting

Weekend Challenge Card, Circut Layered Image, Freebies and Cricut Hack

I hope you all are having a nice winter weekend.

A fun day here, we set up our new teen Sunday school, at church, went to lunch with a friend, and just enjoying some downtime tonight.

I was able to make two challenge cards for the FB group Christian Card Makers.  I found a great image on the Cricut Site, it is an Acess image and perfect for what I had in mind.  The inspiration was actually a piece of paper in my scrap pile. The challenge was to make two cards and get them mailed

These cards are 5.5x6.5

On the inside a favorite verse of mine

This Verse was digitized by the talented Karen Murray
It was also featured on the Word Art Wednesday Blog several years ago.

I have it for you to right-click and save

This prints out beautifully!

Now for my Cricut tip:

This image actually had 5 layers, I only used the top three, I just did not need that much detail.
By the time the top layer was cut it was super fine and I was only using a medium grade white core cardstock.  That was almost a disaster! Plus I was cutting with a regular blade!
To help release it from a new Cricut mat (uber sticky)  I used my heat tool on top of the cut, just warming it up a little bit, the fine cut came up with ease and no tears!  I then used a blending brush and went over the image with distress ink - and that covered any white bits.

One more freebie!

Hope this little tip helps with your next fine cut image.

A Fun Birthday Card With Freebies and Stash Kits

My sweet Nieces' Birthday is in a few days, and I wanted to send her a fun card.  Something cheerful and unique - Just like her!

Last summer I did a big purge in my stamps and designer paper and then moved my stamping room. Seven months later, I  moved it back and reorganized it ( AGAIN).   I know this is very common with paper crafters - perfecting our space and resources.                                                                                  As I was putting paper away I came across a few sheets and my stash of kits and pulled a few things to make April's card.

I'll show you the card and then the process:

When I make cards using designer papers, I keep the scraps in a 14x14 covered tote.  When the tote starts to get full I go through it and start putting bits together, I will do enough to make one "card kit".  These are a lot of fun to work with, I will often take them when I am going to a stamping event or friend's house.  These also make a fun little gift too.  I will add the card baser and envelope

I've pulled a kit and used some of the bits.

Cutting a 12x12 sheet to fit my 5x7 card

I found this nice little [ad in a discount bin at Michaels this week - my first purchase in 8 months.       My local Michaels was extremely bare, nothing but old stock from last summer.

Working the layers

I keep this sentiment set on my desk, I can't remember the maker but I do love it!

The sentiments fit on the typewriter paper perfectly!
April happens to be the author of 4 published novels - so I thought she would                     get a kick out of this motif!

Edging fussy cuts for demension.

Worn Lipstick Oxide Ink

And after all that I stamped the image and thought "what was I thinking".
I did a little paper piecing to fix it and  then went through                                         my stash looking for an 'Authentique' image

April also loves coffee, This was the right image!

A little ribbon and bling and off it went.

I wish I could send all my readers a sweet little package of card making goodies. Since I can't,  I love to give you digital freebies for your card Art, here are three for today - a little thank you for stopping by.

Have a wonderful day - make a card and warm a heart!

Happy word Art Wednesday, New Challenge, and A Freebie

Happy Word Art Wednesday and a new Anything Goes Challenge everyone!  Karen Letchworth has given us a beautiful devotion!  We also have another gorgeous  Bible verse digitized by Karen Murray!  This weeks'  generous sponsor is The Stamps of Life And our Guest Designer is the very talented  Esther Ashbury!  hope you stop over to the blog and join in the fun.

This week I have had the pleasure of putting my craft and sewing room back together,  After a 8 month hiatus due to a big household renovation and what seems like everything we owned being deposited in the craft room, I had to tackle the project and get it done!  3 days later everything seems to be back in place!  And while I was at it I got a deep winter cleaning done.  If we ever move again, It will not be to a house needing renovations!

I am happily crafting in my space with my first project due for the  WAW sample cards.

I love doing these cards, there is such a blessing in crafting with the word of God!

Here is this weeks card: using the verse from Luke 1:37

This verse holds such promise, I can't tell you how many times I looked at something and from my perspective thought, this is impossible.  Knowing how Faithful the Lord is, this verse gave me hope and strength.

I used this little focal element from my stash, I wish I could remember which pad of DP this came from!  It is also dry embossed and distressed with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink

And for my gift to you, I have this 8.5"x11 printable:

These cut very well with a scan and cut machine!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you can go on over to Word Art Wednesday and join the fun!

Fun Quick Craft

Over the weekend we had our Women's breakfast and bible fellowship.  I did a short lesson entitled "What Owns You"  I also made these fridge magnets.  A quick and fun project.

Such a beautiful verse and so important for this strange time we are living in. I am not alarmed, my confidence is in the Almighty God!

I've made more of these types of things than I can count and they are always well received - so fun to make!
The Stamp I think is an Our Daily Bread design stamp.
12x12 paper and mirror board from my stash. I purchase magnet strips from Amazon.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you too are trusting in the Lord.
