Here is my Card for today, I have a few tips for you to on my coloring process

I love this set, so versatile!  This will be a birthday card

Here is the set
Coffee and Love

Here is my process:

I printed out my image on watercolor paper
Good thing I did more than one, my initial intention was to use watercolor pens or paint.  Well, my inkjet ink is not waterproof.  So I switched to trusty alcohol markers.  I used the botched image to try out my colors.

One of my little tricks with alcohol markers is to use 91% alcohol as a dilution/blending medium. here you can see where I have colored the paper band on the cup.

Here I am working on creating shadow and a more realistic look.  I also dip a blending pen in the solution to "work" the blending.  this way your pen never driess out!  A pint bottle is about $2.00.

Another trick, I add color to the back of my petals, it does bleed through a little and that gives the "right" side another layer of color.

I cut this from a snip I made of the original image, in an effort to create demension

Here is the focal flower, I also added micro beads

For my sentiments, I created a whole sheet and saved it for future printing.  These are easy to cut with your paper cutter or electronic cutter.  I created mine in Publisher.

The frame was cut on my Cricut machine. My card base paper is Paper Temptress Heavenly White#120.  I also used Best Glue Ever for all layers of adhesion including the microbeads.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are able to head over to Word Art Wednesday and join in the fun - you may win a prize!

Vintage fashion and a cool masculine card.

This year I made a batch of Valentine cards for different family members, young and old.
I'm going to share two today with you:

This one I made for my Mom, She loves fashion and I know she was a fan of Audrey's!
This card was made with a Digital Stamp, the printing came out perfect ( I have a cheapo Walmart canon- you would never know!).  I used Heavenly White 120#  to print on.  it just drinks up the ink with no feathering, perfectly crisp! I used Silver Metallic Glossy for the frame and the base is Eclipse Black 100#, perfect for a dramatic base.

This card I made for my mother's boyfriend!
He's a pretty cool guy and I know he would like this fun card:

The Beetle is an older Tim Holtz stamp ( I think- I took it off a block a few years ago) Again I printed it on the Heavenly White 120# and used the Silver Metallic Glossy for a frame.  On the focal image I only colored the grass, I left the VW in B+W to allow the beauty of the paper to enhance the image.

you might want to stop over at the Paper Temptress sight, the owner, Patricia always has a sale of some kind going on, often with free shipping!

Making a Vintage Card and a Sentiment Freebie

Hi everyone, today I am making vintage cards using my beautiful Magenta Stamps.
I'll show you my first card and then go through the process. Plus I have one of my own freebies for you!

I love this image, I have used it so many times for all different types of cards, even wedding showers!

I stamped my image on Heavenly White#120 cardstock (wonderful for alcohol marker coloring) and layered with Eclipse Black.

Such beautiful detail in the rubber

Today I used earth tones, But I have done this in cobalt blue and poppy red!

Here I have heat embossed and ready to color

I've added a little glitter too - it is subtle.

To keep all of these layers together, I used the Best Glue Ever!  Heavily inked dry embossed layer, string, feather and sentiment  - no glue gun needed!

And here is my fun freebie!

My stamp is linked to the Magenta website, click the caption and it will take you right over.  You can also  want to check out the Magenta Passion Studio at Facebook  for more inspiration

Sometimes it is a really good thing to be reminded that when we walk with God, he has our whole world in his hands and we can count on Him.

Here is how I made my card

Using a Misti,  you can use any stamping tool you have or an acrylic block

I stamped several images

One for demension

Microbeads, crystal effects and alcohol marker coloring

One because I was afraid I would like my first color choices - and I didn't!

Look how clear this verse came out

Assembling Card Kits With Ease and a Freebie

Have you ever had a brilliant idea - last miniute?  Well that was this project!
Last miniute I thought it would be a really great idea to get a bunch of these out.  I made 24 and had them in the mail in two hours!  Kits can be a wonderful thing ( Maxam Made Studio Kit).
I used Best Glue Ever for all of the adhesion, including the ribbon bows.

Just a tiny bit will hold everything flat and secure

The Glue sets up fast, it is such a pleasure to work with, especially using the fine tip.

I am giving you this lovely sentiment from Song of Solomon, Digitized by Karren Murray ( I think) in one of my frames

I hope you have a wonderful Day and thanks for stopping by!

How to Make a Sweet Card of Encouragement Using Magenta's Wren on a Branch Stamp and Stash

I recently created a sweet card as a DT member the Word Art Wednesday challenge blog, This is a favorite magenta stamp and I want to share the card and how I made it with you!

 Heres the card:

I had to find an image to suit the verse and I immediately thought of the wren Stamp, I love it for it's pretty and versatile design.

Wanting to keep it in soft shades I pulled paper from my stash in pinks and charcoal.

I have this stamp in the unmounted style - I Love my vintage wood stamps but for these finely etched stamps, I really love being able to use my stamping tool.  One of those crafty tools I really feel is worth the cost.  Another plus, if you decide to unmount any or your wood mounted stamps, you will save storage room and ease!  Save those blocks!  I'm making a desktop with mine.

I wanted to stamp my image on a tea-stained doily.

Hmm, well that didn't work!

Next, I tried a piece of parchment paper

That was a yes, you can see I mixed my ink pad stamp colors right on the stamp.

I gave it a second impression

I colored it in and used colored pencil to give it color.  I also outlined the image with a charcoal colored alcohol ink pen

I placed the bird right on top of the doily where the first impression was a dud.

This Wren makes a sweet focal image

The image I used
