A Fun Birthday Card With Freebies and Stash Kits

My sweet Nieces' Birthday is in a few days, and I wanted to send her a fun card.  Something cheerful and unique - Just like her!

Last summer I did a big purge in my stamps and designer paper and then moved my stamping room. Seven months later, I  moved it back and reorganized it ( AGAIN).   I know this is very common with paper crafters - perfecting our space and resources.                                                                                  As I was putting paper away I came across a few sheets and my stash of kits and pulled a few things to make April's card.

I'll show you the card and then the process:

When I make cards using designer papers, I keep the scraps in a 14x14 covered tote.  When the tote starts to get full I go through it and start putting bits together, I will do enough to make one "card kit".  These are a lot of fun to work with, I will often take them when I am going to a stamping event or friend's house.  These also make a fun little gift too.  I will add the card baser and envelope

I've pulled a kit and used some of the bits.

Cutting a 12x12 sheet to fit my 5x7 card

I found this nice little [ad in a discount bin at Michaels this week - my first purchase in 8 months.       My local Michaels was extremely bare, nothing but old stock from last summer.

Working the layers

I keep this sentiment set on my desk, I can't remember the maker but I do love it!

The sentiments fit on the typewriter paper perfectly!
April happens to be the author of 4 published novels - so I thought she would                     get a kick out of this motif!

Edging fussy cuts for demension.

Worn Lipstick Oxide Ink

And after all that I stamped the image and thought "what was I thinking".
I did a little paper piecing to fix it and  then went through                                         my stash looking for an 'Authentique' image

April also loves coffee, This was the right image!

A little ribbon and bling and off it went.

I wish I could send all my readers a sweet little package of card making goodies. Since I can't,  I love to give you digital freebies for your card Art, here are three for today - a little thank you for stopping by.

Have a wonderful day - make a card and warm a heart!
