Nemo in Chicopee MA

Nemo Left us about 2.5 feet of snow, we spent the day digging out and since we live on  a side street we are going to be blanketed in by snow for a little while longer.  We can get out but our street is one of the worst plowed in the town.  Oh well, it is a narrow fully loaded with parked on the street card, so it is no wonder plowing is a problem! 

I did get a bunch of cards made though!  Here they are:

These Butterfly I stamped with Stazon and then colored with Tim Holtz distress inks.  One coat of polycrylic and when that was dry I added the glitter.  believe it or not it took me 15 minutes to make 8 butterflies!

 I also picked up some new Black storage containers at Family Dollar:
 
These containers are about a 15" long and hold cut papers for card layers
 
 
These are about 8" long and hold cards in progress!  The large were 3.00 and the small 1.00.
 
And now it is time to clean up and head to church!!  I hope where ever you are in the World, It is well!

Aha!Now I have an inkling of how you made your butterflies...you will have to do some tutorials! I ADORE your cats even though I'm not a 'cat' person particularly...your siamese with blue border on black is my favourite....simply stunning! Is it a stamp? Great photos....stay warm and safe my friend! TFS!

Tutorial: Making Napkin Cards

Here is a fun tried and true old fashioned card making technique. Long before we had all these sumptuous patterned papers we had gorgeous napkins! For depth of color and interesting texture, you can't beat them especially for the money! Most you you may have done these so this will be an ‘Oh Yeah’ moment! Have fun! You can start with any size paper napkin - I like to pick min up at Tuesday Morning, they have a wonderful selection and are usually marked down Separate the printed surface from the tissue backing - these napkins are usually 3 layers I cut my panels to fit a light weight piece of cardstock I drizzled glue on the card stock and then added my napkin panel I found it was easier to keep the light and floaty napkin on the table and then place the gluey paper on it Gently smoothed it a little bit - remember the napkin layer is very fragile I gave it a few minutes to set up and the just added a puddle of Lineco glue. How To Restore A Vintage Rubber Stamp

I have a lovely Vintage  Magenta Cat Stamp, I'm not sure of the exact year of release, but I'm pretty sure it is about 20 years old, It appears to be in perfect condition.   But on inspection, I can feel that the rubber has gotten a little dry and "tough" and what that means is that I won't get a good impression from it.  I bet you have run into the same thing with some of your older stamps!  Don't toss the stamp, there is a way to restore them pretty easily! I have on hand the little sanding blocks you can buy for about $2.00 at the hardware store.  The are very handy in the craft room!  I gave this stamp a vigorous rubbing and then wiped off the dust with a damp wipe Next a coat of glycerin - a $4.00 drugstore item - you can also re-ink your embossing/resist pad with this! Let it sit over night and then wipe with a damp towel.  Your stamp should have that nice soft rubber texture.  Now the ink will sit on the rubber!  I inked up
