Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge and a Color Freebie

Hello Everyone!  Greetings from very snowy Central New York!  I'm getting ready to face the Tundra outside and go to work but before I do I wanted to share This weeks' Word Art Wednesday 
with you and leave a freebie for your card making.

My card for this week is using the gifted verse from the Psalms, it is a personal favorite.  I have made 4 of these this morning. 



I belong to a Facebook group called  'From The Heart', this group is dedicated to sending cards of encouragement to people that are elderly, alone, in physical or emotional distress.  Because I work with this same group of people in private duty I know how much a little thing like a hand made card - or any card can be to lift a spirit of those lonely or sick. So I want to do that as much as I can, especially if I can bring the Word of Light with it!  




These four cards will be going to four ladies in assisted living and rehab.  I like to do a top fold as the will sit on a tray or shelf  for a long time ( a little something I learned when I worked in a nursing home hospice 30 years ago).

These cards were printed on 130# canson watercolor paper and really looks like a watercolor image!


I am mentioning the From the Heart Group in the hope that you will stop by there and see the need and get involved - it is very easy.  All you do is read the posts that have all the details and pick a few people, right or stamp a short not or innie and mail it. It does not have to be faith based. Many card makers have tons of cards they haven't mailed - this could be a great way to use them!

I recently watched a You Tube video on how to make an origami Paper dress, I thought these would make the sweetest card for all occasions!  So I had a great time crafting with friends and making these adorable dress card! Tutorial: Making Napkin Cards

Here is a fun tried and true old fashioned card making technique. Long before we had all these sumptuous patterned papers we had gorgeous napkins! For depth of color and interesting texture, you can't beat them especially for the money! Most you you may have done these so this will be an ‘Oh Yeah’ moment! Have fun! You can start with any size paper napkin - I like to pick min up at Tuesday Morning, they have a wonderful selection and are usually marked down Separate the printed surface from the tissue backing - these napkins are usually 3 layers I cut my panels to fit a light weight piece of cardstock I drizzled glue on the card stock and then added my napkin panel I found it was easier to keep the light and floaty napkin on the table and then place the gluey paper on it Gently smoothed it a little bit - remember the napkin layer is very fragile I gave it a few minutes to set up and the just added a puddle of Lineco glue. How To Restore A Vintage Rubber Stamp

I have a lovely Vintage  Magenta Cat Stamp, I'm not sure of the exact year of release, but I'm pretty sure it is about 20 years old, It appears to be in perfect condition.   But on inspection, I can feel that the rubber has gotten a little dry and "tough" and what that means is that I won't get a good impression from it.  I bet you have run into the same thing with some of your older stamps!  Don't toss the stamp, there is a way to restore them pretty easily! I have on hand the little sanding blocks you can buy for about $2.00 at the hardware store.  The are very handy in the craft room!  I gave this stamp a vigorous rubbing and then wiped off the dust with a damp wipe Next a coat of glycerin - a $4.00 drugstore item - you can also re-ink your embossing/resist pad with this! Let it sit over night and then wipe with a damp towel.  Your stamp should have that nice soft rubber texture.  Now the ink will sit on the rubber!  I inked up
