Once in a life time and freebies

"Once in a life time you meet someone who changes everything"
This is a quote on a stamp I purchased while I was at my crafty retreat in November.
      I used the stamp

to make this ATC for a swap group I am in  for a January ATC swap "Love"

When I saw the stamp I knew I just had to have it and at a price tag of $4.00 I could have it!

I think there are many people and events in our lives that happen and that change everything.  But I do think there is that one special person that can happen and that can change everything.  The first "person" in my life to change everything was Jesus. One summer night when I was twenty I was sitting on my front steps and thinking about the crazy "religious" family that also happend to be my landlords, that also more or less adopted me into their hearts and loved me in a way I had never known.  I was thinking what if they were right and I was wrong, What if there really was a plan and purpose to my life and I was missing it.  So I did what Josie (landlord) told me to do, she would say "Ginny don't just believe me, ask God who He is and read the bible!"  So that night I did ask God who he was, my conversation went like this: " So God, Josie tells me you are Jesus and I need to do what you say in the bible, But I need to know who you are, what you are and what I am supposed to do because I sure can't understand the bible."  My answer came so swiftly and entered so deeply into my heart "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
My response was "really"? and he said Really!
That was 1980,and that prayer made me to understand Jesus was the Way I should live, He was the Truth I should follow and He was the giver of Life, and if I wanted to go to heaven it would only be through him. I hadn't found the cross yet, but I did very soon after that.  I started reading my bible and He helped me to understand.  That conversation changed everything in my life.

The next someone was Steve.  I was 38, A single mom and ready to stay single.
There is a verse that says God will restore what the Locust has eaten.  The restoration came when Steve and I married in 2002, He changed everything, he made my buried dreams come alive and come true.  People would say the honeymoon would wear off, but it never did, it has only gotten better.  More Love, More Faith, More Peace, More Hope. More Joy
We've had to deal with the normal wear and tear of life and then some, But like the bible says, The greatest of these is Love and so it has been for Steve and I .                                                                  We are best friends and our best friend is Jesus.

If you don't know who he is, then I offer you the same advice Josie gave me: "Ask Jesus who he is and read the bible."

I also wanted to leave you with a few beautiful portrait freebies for the weekend:

This one makes me think of Steve and I :

Amazing how God works in each individual in the most appropriate way for that person. Isn't He wonderful. Then when we yield and allow Him to work through us, He uses us as a tool to help others. Thank you for allowing Him to use you in my life to be a blessing. May this coming year be one of victory in every area of your life. God bless you and your husband. Hugs.

Wonderful post Ginny. Great to hear the beginnings.
I thought the locust verse was in Nahum but its Joel 2:2 I just had to look it up.

"And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you."

Isn't our God wonderful??? He surely knew what He waz doing when He made you. You are a blessing in my life. :D
