How to use up scrapbook paper with card sketches and freebie
My card sketch on Mondays' Christian Card Maker group was fun, using triangles for a change! I'll show you the card I made for it and then the details:
Here is here Sketch:
I created the Happy birthday using one of my fonts with my Cricut Explore and a piece of 12x12 scrapbook paper
Only one casualty after the cut
In this shot you can see a little slubbing from the cut, due to the fact this is a white core paper. That is okay my little trick will take care of that:
A little distress ink rubbed over the cut- I picked a color that would work with the card - you don't have to try to match the color to the paper you are cutting
Gently lift the paper
Then gently lift the lettering: See you can't even tell it is white core. That extra step took all of about 45seconds!
I know some crafters use a Xyron machine to make letting into stickers for adhesion, I very simply use my 'Best Glue Ever' with a fine tip.
It was harder to take this photo than to detail the glue! I love this glue for die cuts, it never buckels!
A little storage tip:
I always cut up a whole sheet, I know I will use it again ( I always do)
Another little tip: I used Paper Temptress Heavenly White 120# card stock for this card ( I cut the deckle edge)
I like to purchase the White in bulk and then score and fold and have ready, for colored cardstock I buy bulk packs of assorted colors and have them ready to go too! This just makes card making so much easier!
Here you can see my whites and a bulk pack I have been enjoying called Sorbet.
and since you have stayed with me till the end, here is a Freebie for you to use and enjoy in your paper crafting!
Thanks for stopping by!
