How to Create a Beautiful Digital Card Using Sumptuous Papers! And Freebie.

Because I love card making I love using many different types of technique.  Using digitals offers storage convenience and size manipulation.  I wanted to create a pretty card for a young friend and I wanted to do it fairly quickly.  So I pulled a few pieces of paper and let its colors inspire me.

I started by creating a digi using  elements from Viva Digitals and a sentiment in my sentiment digi stash:


I printed this on Cryogen White - wonderful for digi's!  It allows the ink to penetrate the surface under the shimmer. This keeps the image sharp and vibrant.  Some papers cause ink to sit on top of paper and eventually it  smears or just fades.




I fussy cut the image (yay Scan and Cut!)

I then dry embossed a piece of Aqua Basis paper from the 'Basis Card Stock Package Beautiful rich colors all 80#.




used a printed paper and foil sheet from stash 

Heavenly White 120# for the card base

I also added a little Stickles, Wink of Stella, Nail polish and a feather!

Tutorial: Making Napkin Cards

Here is a fun tried and true old fashioned card making technique. Long before we had all these sumptuous patterned papers we had gorgeous napkins! For depth of color and interesting texture, you can't beat them especially for the money! Most you you may have done these so this will be an ‘Oh Yeah’ moment! Have fun! You can start with any size paper napkin - I like to pick min up at Tuesday Morning, they have a wonderful selection and are usually marked down Separate the printed surface from the tissue backing - these napkins are usually 3 layers I cut my panels to fit a light weight piece of cardstock I drizzled glue on the card stock and then added my napkin panel I found it was easier to keep the light and floaty napkin on the table and then place the gluey paper on it Gently smoothed it a little bit - remember the napkin layer is very fragile I gave it a few minutes to set up and the just added a puddle of Lineco glue. How To Restore A Vintage Rubber Stamp

I have a lovely Vintage  Magenta Cat Stamp, I'm not sure of the exact year of release, but I'm pretty sure it is about 20 years old, It appears to be in perfect condition.   But on inspection, I can feel that the rubber has gotten a little dry and "tough" and what that means is that I won't get a good impression from it.  I bet you have run into the same thing with some of your older stamps!  Don't toss the stamp, there is a way to restore them pretty easily! I have on hand the little sanding blocks you can buy for about $2.00 at the hardware store.  The are very handy in the craft room!  I gave this stamp a vigorous rubbing and then wiped off the dust with a damp wipe Next a coat of glycerin - a $4.00 drugstore item - you can also re-ink your embossing/resist pad with this! Let it sit over night and then wipe with a damp towel.  Your stamp should have that nice soft rubber texture.  Now the ink will sit on the rubber!  I inked up
