Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes - Weeks #669-670

Good Morning. Time again for the Word Art Wednesday Family-Friendly Challenge.  We have our fresh Manna by Karen Letchworth to help us in our Christian way, a beautiful verse in Calligraphy by Karen Murray from Titus 5:17 , and a $25 gift Certificate from one of my favorite companies; Altenew!

My card for this Challenge:

Using public domain art again, I found this humble painting profound.
I think of the thousands of men and women who have served and been faithful while unsung since the birth of Christianity. They have been the people who have held up the arms of Moses, taught the next generation, counseled, guided, listened, and worked, usually totally in the background.  They                  are the Elders, who had the vision, strength and love for the body to serve                                                   These Edlers have been a blessing to me and my family,  helping us to stay strong until it was time for us to take their place.

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you join in the new challenge at Word Art Wednesday!

Good Morning. Time again for the Word Art Wednesday Family-Friendly Challenge.  We have our fresh Manna by Karen Letchworth to help us in our Christian way, a beautiful verse in Calligraphy by Karen Murray from Colossians 3:12, and a $25 gift drawing from Doodlebugs Stamps!

He is my card for this first challenge of the summer:

I know I've made at least a couple hundred of these paper dress cards, they are really fun to make up a batch and use them as needed.  I use 6x6 paper pads to make the dresses; with all the different patterned papers that are out there, you can really make beautiful dresses!

The real star of the card, however, is the bible verse and the life-directing message.

The flowers are from an Anna Griffin kit - I love using this outside of a kit structure.

I hope you are off to a great start this summer. Try to take a few minutes, make a card, and enter the drawing at Word Art Wednesday!

Maxam Sewing Studio

As my full retirement approaches ( next June), I will start up Maxam Sewing again.  Things will be a little different here in New York.  In CT, MA, and TX, there was an abundance of sewing contract work available, but there is just about nothing here in NY. I made a lot of masks during COVID-19, but after that, I had no subcontract sewing.   I plan to offer full-service alterations, upcycling, embroidery stitch kits, and my old standby sewing machine sales. I'll do that until Steve retires or the Lord comes!

One of the first things I am excited to offer is the  Stitch Kit,  Asian Song: Lots of fun goodies!  You can find it here on FaceBook.

I have a new embellishing machine for my upcycles. It is so much fun!

I have waited for one of these to come my way at an affordable price for almost a decade! It didn't disappoint.  I am still at the bottom of the learning curve, but I will master it!!

My machines are set up and ready to stitch!

An exciting time for me.

The greens are of the olive plant; I was looking for Clean, Simple, and Masculine.

I used Strathmore 120# Felt finish paper for printing and a base to give the card texture and a good hand feel.  Aside from the card specs, what a beautiful verse for Father's Day!

I have done the digital work as a freebie if you would like:

Word Art Wednesday and Happy Mothers Day Challenge # 647&648 and a freebie

Good Morning. Time again for the Word Art Wednesday Family-Friendly Challenge.  We have our Devotion by Karen Letchworth to help us on our Christian way, a beautiful verse in Calligraphy by Karen Murray from Psalm 113:9, And a $25 gift drawing from Avery Elle! good Word, another bible verse to add to our treasure chest of verses, and a prize, how awesome is that!  I hope you will take the time to make a card, enter it on the blog, Word Art Wednesday, and most importantly, send it to someone to brighten and bless their day!

My card this week features our bible verse with a beautiful watercolor by Mary Cassett done in 1890.

Her artwork is famous for portraying mothers with children in beautiful, loving images.

This verse has a special place in my own heart; after 3 miscarriages, I was deeply discouraged and grieving.  During the 4th and 5th pregnancies, the Lord blessed me with two beautiful children and even expanded my tent with my third child, whom I did not birth.  It was all great Joy and by                           the Mercy of the Lord!

A very special card to send to someone who understands the rejoicing in this verse!

If you would like to use this image for your own Mother's Day card:

I hope you all have a Happy Mother's Day; we are all mothers of many, birthed children, adopted, won on our knees, and forever in our hearts.
God Bless You,
Ginny M

For my cards this month  I decided to use black and white portraits.                                    I love the powerful impact they have paired with the bible verse.

This week's card image is by an Etsy seller: Love Junk Journals from the Joyful Portraits collection.

When I looked at this portrait, I really felt Joy in this picture, and I thought this could be me in twenty years!  I hope and pray that the joy of the Lord is seen in my life, don't you? The verse speaks loud and clear for itself.

The card is printed on 110# white smooth cardstock, and the base is 130# watercolor paper.

When I read this verse it makes me think of this verse:

Psalm 139:23,24

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

If there is any wicked way in me, I would like to know now so that I can repent and be ready when the Lord looks at the fruit of my doings!
