Reverse camera

I'm getting ready to hit the road for the day, but I wanted to put up my new cards for the card shop and write a word or two for the blog.  I also wanted a really great picture to post, so I thought well I'll photo my colored pencils because that is what I want to play with and blog about when I get home - my new watercolor pencils and my old prisma colors. 
 I was distracted from that when I hit the reverse camera button on my camera/phone.  Ugh!!  My new Nexus Android does this all the time, instead of sliding over to up load the photo, it slides over to reverse the camera to reveal not the picture but me!  Of course it is always with a mouth open , doublechin (did I even say that) up the nose angle!!  Honestly I am one of those people that don't care to have my picture taken and when this happens it is always the same response - a grunt!!  This morning it made me think, we are such complex beings, so much of us is revealed in the image of our faces portray, even so, much can remain hidden.  
While The beauty of my face primed out a couple of decades ago, the beauty of my life becomes more radiant ( in all of our cases I  hope ) we become as we age more who we are and more who we want to be. I think this is true in all of our lives, this revealing. Because I am a Christian I live to please God, simply and joyfully.  I am far from perfect and if you would like to know my flaws, I will tell you about them, because I am full of them.  When you live to please god, you become free from these flaws one step at a time,  this is what the love of God does for us.  He frees us from sin and disgrace, so that we can be who he designed us to be, free and  filled with his Love and Grace!

Tutorial: Making Napkin Cards

Here is a fun tried and true old fashioned card making technique. Long before we had all these sumptuous patterned papers we had gorgeous napkins! For depth of color and interesting texture, you can't beat them especially for the money! Most you you may have done these so this will be an ‘Oh Yeah’ moment! Have fun! You can start with any size paper napkin - I like to pick min up at Tuesday Morning, they have a wonderful selection and are usually marked down Separate the printed surface from the tissue backing - these napkins are usually 3 layers I cut my panels to fit a light weight piece of cardstock I drizzled glue on the card stock and then added my napkin panel I found it was easier to keep the light and floaty napkin on the table and then place the gluey paper on it Gently smoothed it a little bit - remember the napkin layer is very fragile I gave it a few minutes to set up and the just added a puddle of Lineco glue. How To Restore A Vintage Rubber Stamp

I have a lovely Vintage  Magenta Cat Stamp, I'm not sure of the exact year of release, but I'm pretty sure it is about 20 years old, It appears to be in perfect condition.   But on inspection, I can feel that the rubber has gotten a little dry and "tough" and what that means is that I won't get a good impression from it.  I bet you have run into the same thing with some of your older stamps!  Don't toss the stamp, there is a way to restore them pretty easily! I have on hand the little sanding blocks you can buy for about $2.00 at the hardware store.  The are very handy in the craft room!  I gave this stamp a vigorous rubbing and then wiped off the dust with a damp wipe Next a coat of glycerin - a $4.00 drugstore item - you can also re-ink your embossing/resist pad with this! Let it sit over night and then wipe with a damp towel.  Your stamp should have that nice soft rubber texture.  Now the ink will sit on the rubber!  I inked up
