l`Chaim!

This was a little project I put together this afternoon.  I made them for Gerry my Mothers' Beaux.  Gerry is one of those rare individuals over 80 that still enjoys writing letters.  With the holidays coming up I thought he might enjoy this set of Cards.  When I give them to him he will tell me stories from his parents and grandparents times and I will learn a few more Yiddish words.  I love hearing peoples histories, and since Gerry is one of the most enthusiastic persons I know, it will be a real treat for me!

I used my computer to print out the  Chaim symbol, I used a punch to punch the symbol and then I used my eCraft to make the rest of the squares. A Very easy project!

 
Made on 100# linen paper.  I love the way they came out.
 
I received this in the mail today!!  A totally surprise!!
 
a really nice pair of scissors from Fiskar!  With my "Fiskateeer" number engraved on it!  They are terrific, so sharp and fits my hand so nice!!   I will have to send them a thank you note!

Tutorial: Making Napkin Cards

Here is a fun tried and true old fashioned card making technique. Long before we had all these sumptuous patterned papers we had gorgeous napkins! For depth of color and interesting texture, you can't beat them especially for the money! Most you you may have done these so this will be an ‘Oh Yeah’ moment! Have fun! You can start with any size paper napkin - I like to pick min up at Tuesday Morning, they have a wonderful selection and are usually marked down Separate the printed surface from the tissue backing - these napkins are usually 3 layers I cut my panels to fit a light weight piece of cardstock I drizzled glue on the card stock and then added my napkin panel I found it was easier to keep the light and floaty napkin on the table and then place the gluey paper on it Gently smoothed it a little bit - remember the napkin layer is very fragile I gave it a few minutes to set up and the just added a puddle of Lineco glue. How To Restore A Vintage Rubber Stamp

I have a lovely Vintage  Magenta Cat Stamp, I'm not sure of the exact year of release, but I'm pretty sure it is about 20 years old, It appears to be in perfect condition.   But on inspection, I can feel that the rubber has gotten a little dry and "tough" and what that means is that I won't get a good impression from it.  I bet you have run into the same thing with some of your older stamps!  Don't toss the stamp, there is a way to restore them pretty easily! I have on hand the little sanding blocks you can buy for about $2.00 at the hardware store.  The are very handy in the craft room!  I gave this stamp a vigorous rubbing and then wiped off the dust with a damp wipe Next a coat of glycerin - a $4.00 drugstore item - you can also re-ink your embossing/resist pad with this! Let it sit over night and then wipe with a damp towel.  Your stamp should have that nice soft rubber texture.  Now the ink will sit on the rubber!  I inked up
