Hybrid card making

I love the world of printed art, ink on paper, paint on paper, letterpress, offset, silkscreen.  To me it is a world of color and thought exploding on paper.  This expression on paper has to just about the most important vehicle man has ever created. Think about our world without books, art, letters.

Along comes the 21st  century world of technology and it changes the whole idea of media as completely as paper changed the ancient world.

I'm doing a lot of hybrid cards now; digital plus hand inking and I love it, the more I learn the better I get!  I plan on learning a whole lot more and hopefully teaching it in the near future.

I made this card for  the ODBD Challenge# 233 color Challenge using hybrid techniques.

The color selection for the Challenge:

Not exactly my favorite palette, matter of fact I kinda cringed - I'm just not a pastel girl!  But that is
why challenges are challenging and that is why they help us get out of our comfort zone and grow.
I am truly looking forward to some brights or earthtones in the hopefully near future!!

I'm using an Our Daily Bread scripture stamp for my focal point

But before I apply the ink by hand

(I'd like to put up the individual images I used to do this work but they are not my own and copy-rite protected you can however use the first picture as that I did create from multiple digital sets)

I needed to build my  background.
Starting in Publisher
Adding the background paper to appear behind the frame,
adding the frame
adding the insert paper
adding feathers and flowers

I added a purple background layer

I picked my ODBD scripture stamp

and used Ranger Archival ink for the stamp.

Here is the finished card
I added glossy accents to the frame and flowers - I think next time I will not do that, it was gilding the lilly if you know what I mean.

The card is 5x7 on a lovely 130# Ivory base.

Isn't this a beautiful verse?  I love the font it is in so full of motion.
The swirling back ground was cropped for a much larger digital image, I really like the movement of the "clouds".

Stop By Our Daily Bread Designs for more inspiration and enter the Challenge!

I've also entered this card in these challenges:

Thanks for stopping by!
