Word Art Wednesday! Aqua Markers Weeks and Technique # 2 : Painting on the stamp.

It is Word Art Wednesday and Challenge # 199!!  Almost at the big 200!
This week we have a beautiful verse from Karen Murray and Devotion by Karen Letchworth!
Stop over to Word Art Wednesday for the devotion and enter for one of the awesome prizes that are generously being offered for the challenge!!

Karen's verse for this week:

I creating another card today with my Spectrum Aqua Markers.  For today I am "painting" my Penny Black stamps - I love her brush stroke stamps I have a lot of them and they are always a pleasure to use!

I picked my colors for this floral focal point and I am using Canson watercolor paper.  This paper is very affordable.  It is a student grade paper but for card making I think it is perfect!

Just a few colors, you don't need a lot for beautiful results.

I inked directly on my stamps.  I wasn't fussy about it, I just layed the color on.

This is a big stamp for a 5x7 card focal point

Nothing fussy here, this was also my fist time using this stamp.

I thought I would need to mist the stamp as I took a couple of minutes to ink it up.
Misting might have worked, but my sprayer kinda hosed it.  You can see where the watercolor marker ink became a puddle:

Well tried it again and this time I 'huffed' on the stamp:

And that worked great!!

This only looks like it didn't have enough watercolor on the stamp- it was plenty!

Using a water pen - I really don't like the watercolor pens and I'll go back to using a brush.

I added water and painted over the image

This is the second one, I  love how brilliant the colors are.    In the past I have had a problem with my watercolors looking either washed out or too dense.  That is why I wanted to try the Spectrum Aquas, to achieve a painterly look without going through a whole pad of paper and ending up still without a  finished image.

Here is the first one with a little water'painted' onto it:

For the verse, I printed on solar white card stock and it just looked to white against the watercolor paper. So I thought wouldn't it be great if I could actually print on the water color paper.  That paper is like chip board - but nothing is gained if nothing is ventured

It worked!!!

Here are my finished cards:

My Word Art Wednesday Card:

I made this with the first attempt:

Tommorow I'll have Technique # 3 using the Markers on Wet Watercolor paper
