How to create a sweet vintage card . Plus a freebie!

I've made a sweet vintage card using alcohol markers, distress ink and Paper Temptress papers.
For my freebie, I am giving you this classic image for your card making along with a how- to for the card!

I printed two of these images on 80# Heavenly white paper -wonderful for alcohol marker coloring and Distress Inks!
Right click and save for your card making. This is a masters engraving I adapted for card making.

My pen  coloring selection.  I normally use Spectrum Noir at home and Touch Fives for travel

I did not use a lot of different colors for this card, but I did use a lot of ink,  I was looking for a very saturated look.

I colored this card as I normally would.  Colored the little girl separately, fussy cut her and added her to the main body of the card with dimensional tape. The sky was colored with  1 shade of blue and then I worked in blending solution to give it a more natural mottled look.  After the paper dried (a few minutes) I began to dab in a little yellow, First on the back side and then on the front.  By coloring the back first it gave a 'sun through the clouds' look I also edged the card with chipped sapphire.
This paper really works well for blending color!

I layered the focal image on  Silver Ore paper

And finished by mounting on Heavenly White 120# base weight paper.

This paper makes a beautiful crease!

Thanks for stopping by and I Hope yu enjoy today 's freebie. Stop over to Paper Temptress, you will love all the yummy papers!

Ginny, you have a way with vintage images and color! Just beautiful. I love all of the pictures and your tutorial! Amazing card!
Oh Ginny - what a beauty - and thank you for the freebie. I dare not go near that site.... the budget has been stretched a lot recently by buying overseas.... I had better be good now as I have just had to have two new tyres put on the car, and there are brake pads to be fitted too!!
Blessings
