"Bedazzled" and snow

I belong to a small card swap group called Tanoshi Swappou, it is Japanese for Happy Swapping.  It is a small group about 20 people  and lots of fun.  The month we had a technique swap called bedazzled and I signed up for it -one of those times I say why do I do this to myself??  That swap wasn't as bad as the mermaid swap, where after several tries of making a mermaid card , I threw the stamp in the envelop and mailed it off to my partner ( I just don't do cute).  I'll show you the finished card first:


I like it and I think it came out great.  These cards start out with using a paper napkin. You peel off the utility layer and the stick the print layer on to card stock, this is pretty easy for me as I have a stash of sticker on one side card stock on the other.  With the sticky surface I was able to get perfect adhesion.  The problem was you have to treat the top surface with another adhesive of some kid and then use ultra fine glitter or a heat set glitter.   I didn't have the heat set product, so I went out side , went out side and gave it a good spray of spray adhesive and then liberally added the glitter.  only one problem, it was 1 degree out today and windy.  Note to self, wait till spring before you make another one if the cards.  It is all a learning experience, and my deck look very pretty with the extra glittery snow,  Note to self, wait till spring before you make another one if the cards.  This is also looking pretty getting tracked through my house,

Hi Ginny, oh what a beautiful card, but such a funny store to go along with it! Glitter spritzing in 1* weather is probably not worth it, right!? : )

Tutorial: Making Napkin Cards

Here is a fun tried and true old fashioned card making technique. Long before we had all these sumptuous patterned papers we had gorgeous napkins! For depth of color and interesting texture, you can't beat them especially for the money! Most you you may have done these so this will be an ‘Oh Yeah’ moment! Have fun! You can start with any size paper napkin - I like to pick min up at Tuesday Morning, they have a wonderful selection and are usually marked down Separate the printed surface from the tissue backing - these napkins are usually 3 layers I cut my panels to fit a light weight piece of cardstock I drizzled glue on the card stock and then added my napkin panel I found it was easier to keep the light and floaty napkin on the table and then place the gluey paper on it Gently smoothed it a little bit - remember the napkin layer is very fragile I gave it a few minutes to set up and the just added a puddle of Lineco glue. How To Restore A Vintage Rubber Stamp

I have a lovely Vintage  Magenta Cat Stamp, I'm not sure of the exact year of release, but I'm pretty sure it is about 20 years old, It appears to be in perfect condition.   But on inspection, I can feel that the rubber has gotten a little dry and "tough" and what that means is that I won't get a good impression from it.  I bet you have run into the same thing with some of your older stamps!  Don't toss the stamp, there is a way to restore them pretty easily! I have on hand the little sanding blocks you can buy for about $2.00 at the hardware store.  The are very handy in the craft room!  I gave this stamp a vigorous rubbing and then wiped off the dust with a damp wipe Next a coat of glycerin - a $4.00 drugstore item - you can also re-ink your embossing/resist pad with this! Let it sit over night and then wipe with a damp towel.  Your stamp should have that nice soft rubber texture.  Now the ink will sit on the rubber!  I inked up
