No Designer Paper Challenge

******* DAY  5  OF Spending Fast 40 to GO***************

I'm doing good, no purchases other than a Take Ten magazine I purchased with a gift certificate.

                           *******************************************************

On Monday Speedy TV hosts a weekly challenge events , if you enter and post your card you may even win a set of free stamps!!  Go here to check out This Mondays challange:

Today’s challenge theme is No Designer paper.

No Designer Paper" describes cards and scrapbook layouts designed,  with no commercially printed papers!

Oh Boy!  Long time ago when there was no such thing as designer paper this wouldn't have been a challenge!  Now it sure is: not use designer paper!  I had fun with this and went with a bold look using the Marks Finest Papers and stamp set "Big Cats"

I wanted a clean dramatic look, for pattern I dry embossed the gold back ground paper.

Stamps can be purchased here:     http://www.marksfinestpapers.com/servlet/StoreFront
Very Simple, fun to color after Heat embossing with Gold pigment ink and Gold embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
Try the challenge!Participating in challenges is a great way to stretch you skills and learn new ones, I highly recommend trying a few out!  Many have prizes but whether  you win or not  you will at least have a beautiful new card to cheer somebody up with!

I have been reading your fasting posts and it has really made me think about craft $$ fasting too. When I see something, anything, I wonder what can I do crafty with it and if I can think of something to make, I buy it.
So I'm starting my fast today. I would have started with you but I had the Heirlooms Show to attend in Grapevine, TX. I'm proud to say I did show some restraint there.
But now it's time to get serious and make instead of buy. Thanks for the motivation!
