A get well card, tip and freebie
I have been working on the blog today and getting a few get well cards made and out the door. Tomorrow it will be more 'get well' cards and 'Thinking of you"cards.
I have a hard time with phrases like "get well", "feel better soon" and the like - those sentiments sound a bit hollow to me. I am not sure saying 'get well soon' is appropriate for someone going through chemo is. It infers they have a choice in the matter. I much prefer 'Thinking of you" . So today I made a 'Thinking of You' card for a very sick internet friend.
Here is the Card:
That red criss-cross is actually a whoops! Leftover ink on the craft mat ! I like it!
I stamped the initial image on 140# water color paper
you can use alcohol markers on Watercolor paper but you can't blend the same way. I choose the Watercolor paper because I love the buff color and texture of it
Then I stamped a second one on am 80# super smooth card stock to color the flower.
I picked up this stamp at Tuesday Mornintg last Saturday afternoon!
Colored:
When I color I keep my swatch chart right in front of me and refer to it constantly.
I also added this sentiment:
You can right click and save this. Last weekend in an effort to "fancy" up my sentiments I created a set of "Digital Dies" I sold all my dies a few months ago, I wasn't using them and thought when I go back to kit making, I will get a scan and cut machine. So off to auction the dies went. which was fine. but I wanted to pretty up the sentiments on my cards. I didn't have a lot of dies of this type, frankly I find them a big pain to use. Just seems like a lot of work for one sentiment at a time, with very little flexability in size. So I created a set of digitals. I am going to give the entire set away with instructions on how to use them with any sentiment - any size on 12/7/16 to all my readers! For today a sneak peak and one already to go . bye the way, if you have a scan and cut - this will work with it!
I am Extraordinarily Happy and Honored to be back on the design team at The Word Art Wednesday challenge blog. This is a blog that is not only good for you, it is good for the world! I hghly encourage you to vist, read the beautiful devotion by Karen, save the bible verse for your card making. Make a card or two, enter the challenge ( you could wine a 25.00 prize) and then send that card and add a little blessing to someones' day! I LOVE to make cards, it is good for me. But the whole point (for me) of making them is to send them and be an encourager!
Thanks for spending some time with me today!!
