Two days later, a tip using distress inks and a nautical freebie
I made this card while watching the election coverage on Tuesday. It has no reference as to how I feel about the election in general. But it reflective of my feelings about Jesus, He is always in every circumstance a beacon of light, No matter what is going on , He is fixed and His mercy is
unchanging and without end. The kingdoms of men will come and go, but the Lord Jesus Christ and his love for us is Eternal!

This is a digital image that I colored using 3 alcohol markers for the lighthouse and 4 shades of distress ink for the water and sky.
I use two types of tools when I use distress ink pads
For edging, I like the TH blending tool. Years ago I made a set of my own and had a tool for every pad, but that was before I moved and I am not sure where those ended up so now I have 8 and I use them one per color family.
for edging:
for deep color fill:
I use a soft makeup sponge
these sponges are about $5.00 for 25+ yu can buy them in a drug store, dollar store, anywhere they sell makeup .
The real trick to using distress inks, is getting the blending tool really inky. The tools never dry out they only work better. I had all the distress inks but realized I wasn't using them all so I sold them. I now have about 2 dozen along with their refills and use them all the time.
I do have room for a few more new colors! One thing I have found in my crafting experience when you have things you don't use, it is not worth having them. This craft has marketed so much "Stuff" think about, it if you passed on everything you don't, use how much less clutter would you have and how much more room could you enjoy?
I am entering this card over at Word Art Wednesday for the anything goes challenge
and leaving you with this Nautical freebie for you to try coloring!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
