Happy Monday and a Sketch Challenge

Every Monday on my Facebook group 'Christian Card Makers' I host a sketch challenge, Just something fun to start the week,  I also have a nice little prize pack that I do a random draw for the participants. If you like sketch challenges and you like prizes you will like this challenge and this group with a purpose!  Check us out: Christian Card Makers

Here is my sketch:
I made this card using  Bits in my Scrap basket.  Later this week I have a post dedicated to making "scrap cards"

With any sketch challenge, you have the option of making the card in a layout exactly as the sketch is laid out or interpreting it into your own style.  Both can produce beautiful cards
For this week I found something great in my basket that I thought would work.

Looking through that bits basket:

I decided to use the back side of a piece of paper that I made the hydrangea card from last week.

Already having my focal image in mind I thought this would look pretty good fussy cut.

To create balance and harmony (not trying to sound zen)
I distressted the image and teh fussy cut papers.  I also changed the color of the focal image using a shade of ditress ink.  I felt that if I left it white it would just be so glaring against the vintage colors and look  to stark and throw the whole thing off.

 Here's my card:

I tucked a couple of feathers behind the focal image added a little Stickels Stardust

Sometimes when making a card you really just need to see where you can make everything work together on your canvas, adding complementary colors can make the whole thing work.  Don't be afraid to experiment, especially with your scrap basket - It's only paper!

Thanks for stopping by and if you love making encouragement cards and having no drama fellowship, stop over at Christian Card Makers!
There is so much there to enhance your card making!
