Butterfly Beauties

Last Wednesday  I left you with these butterfly's on my desk.  These are a digital image I worked up and use quite often. I thought I'd take you through the process, it is so fast and easy.
Firstly you print up your butterfly.  If you would like, I'd be happy to send you the PNG file! You can make them any size!!!!

I prefer to use 100lb paper making them very sturdy and easy to fussy cut.  I also use Tim Holtz distress inks.  The way they float on the paper; I love working with it!

I simply start with a light color in the middle and then use two darker colors working my way out, and more of the light color on the out side edges

After the coloring I add a coat of Minwax  'Polycrylic' for a glazed look, this  take about 30 miniutes to dry
Lastly I add glitter, let them dry overnight and then fussy cut!

The last thing I do is edge them with black!  I can do the inking very quickly, a dozen in 15 min, as I'm not trying to make these a "perfect" specimen, they are fun fancy butterflies!!

Give it a try, they are loads of fun and look great!
Thanks for stopping by!

Back again Ginny and just read this and thought of your post: from this link - http://odb.org/

Our Daily Bread 2nd July:

Among God’s creatures, the butterfly is one of the most stunningly beautiful! Its gentle flight, colorful wings, and amazing migratory patterns are traits that make the butterfly a masterpiece of the natural world.

This flying insect, while supplying us with visual enjoyment, also supplies us with amazing examples of the marvels of God’s creative work.

For instance, the majestic monarch butterfly can travel 3,000 miles on its migration to Central America—only to end up at the same tree its parents or even grandparents landed on a generation or two earlier. It does this guided by a brain the size of a pinhead.

Or consider the monarch’s metamorphosis. After the caterpillar builds a chrysalis around itself, it releases a chemical that turns its insides to mush—no perceptible parts. Somehow from this emerges the brain, internal parts, head, legs, and wings of a butterfly.

One butterfly expert said, “The creation of the body of a caterpillar into the body and wings of a butterfly is, without doubt, one of the wonders of life on earth.” Another expert feels that this metamorphosis is “rightly regarded as a miracle.”

“How manifold are [God’s] works!” (Ps. 104:24)—and the butterfly is but one of them.

We stand amazed, God, at the awesome creation You
allow us to enjoy.
From distant galaxies to beautiful
butterflies, You have given us a world that speaks loudly
of Your love for us.
Thank You, Lord, for creation.
Creation’s design points to the Master Designer.

I have followed your process for the gorgeous butterflies. Simply love them.
I think they are a miraculous piece of Gods great creations.
I would simply love having the pattern for them. Would a png work the same as a jpg?
Thank you for posting these and the great tutorial.

Very pretty and I would love to use jpg but my HP printer ink bleeds just with the least bit of moisture.

My DH priced printers with permanent ink but too expensive and he said just buy the stamps I want.... cheaper that way in his opinion. LOL, I didn't have the heart to tell him I want them ALL!

Thank you for sharing your talents!
