Fancy Frames Challenge, Mojo Monday challenge and 2 little tricks !

It is Monday night here in the US, but it is Tuesday in Australia.  I am a New Design Teamer for Twist of Faith Blog, which is base located in Melbourne. I need to have my posts up for their very reasonable time of 6 pm, or 2 am my time.  So you can see why I am posting now!!  So I can be on time!  Yeah to me for being on time; this is the only way I can accomplish that feat, start on the other side of the world a day and a half ahead!!

The challenge for the Twist of faith this week is Borders and Fancy frames, you can go here for details and enter your own card; http://twistoffaithcards.blogspot.com/  The point of Twist of faith is to enhance a community of card makers with positive quotations, scriptures and family friendly images in a God Pleasing way! Check it out and join in!!

This weeks sponsor for Twist of Faith is Digi Darla  !

Here is my card:

I enjoyed working this image . The digital stamp was of excellent quality and he was easy to color.  I used Spectrum Noir markers and distress inks.
I did not make a very ornate border for this little guy, I don't think he would have looked great in a gold baroque embossed frame! So instead, I picked a nice pattern paper and made that the frame for the card image.  Here is the inside:

I am planning on sending this to a terrific young man in my Sunday school class, He even looks a little like this boy!!
I used 110# paper for the base and it is an A6 size.

Here is trick#1
This little guy is "popped" which means he was colored separately and then fussy cut ( this takes the curse off the oops of over the line coloring!)

Before you attach your colored image that is to be popped, outline the image in black both on the background paper and the image.  This will give the image a much more distinctive and finished look.

Go on over to Twist of Faith and check out the other additional DT samples!!http://twistoffaithcards.blogspot.com/

The Next card or cards is for Mojo Monday:  I like this one!!

Go here for all the details!!    http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/

Here are my cards: I made three because I couldn't help myself!!

And here is trick #2
When I want a very fine black line, the easiest way to do this is to draw it on!  I prefer a black alcohol marker to do this.  This also saves on your black paper! This black line adds contrast which draws the eye in!

Okay last but not least, Day 6 of my spending fast and today I got in my email an 80% A.C.Moore coupon. AGHH!!
And because I used 6 pieces of my Gypsies 7 paper and liquid pearl and black ribbon, I had to get over myself and say I am not going to run out when my husband is in the shower and buy 5 more pads of paper!!!!  but it is so hard A.C.Moore is only 9 minutes away!!

Thanks for stopping by and if you read all the way to the end of this post, God Bless you Extra!!
