4 and 1/2 women, friends

Last night 4 and 1/2 women met to enjoy each others company and say Happy Birthday to Donna!  Happy Birthday and sadly Au Reviour to Donna.




  Donna is moving to the west coast  and we are all going to miss her so much.  At least we have a few more fun things planned before she starts her new chapter !

Tomorrow I'm going to a crafty get together hosted by Crystal  - Super Stamp Girl  , So the 4.1/2 will have lots of fun together for the day!  I'm working on a little goodie bag for the 1/2, Charlotte is just the sweetest child you can imagine and she is an awesome card maker in her own right!!


I have an agenda for tomorrow to, revisiting the swing card!  I used to use a cutting machine that hacked more paper than it cut, Now I'm looking for a simpler die cut version.

I gave it a whirl last night, so I wouldn't look like a dunce tomorrow when Crystal gives me a lesson.

It was a fail





I think I shouldn't start projects at 1am. 
The good thing was It brought back to mind a favorite folded card and I hope to get a bunch of those done tonight!!

I'll have to post the successes tomorrow!!


I have two sisters Robin and Cherie  in the Natural, My Mother, my Daughter, and my two Daughter in laws (almost 2). I have 3 sisters in law;  they are all treasures in my life.
And Friends, like Jane, Lori and Beth, The 3 1/2, Laurie, Marilyn and Shaz,  These too are treasures,  I am very, very blessed to have such wonderful women to call friends and family, Funny how the heart holds no lines, love is love. There is just something so special about the "sisterhood" and the deep affects these relationships hold, many of my friends are scattered across the globe, But they are closely kept in my heart.

I recently watched a You Tube video on how to make an origami Paper dress, I thought these would make the sweetest card for all occasions!  So I had a great time crafting with friends and making these adorable dress card! These three are my favorites: I used an old Stampin' Up background stamp for the background on most of these. I left the sentiment off, for now, that way I can turn these into whatever I need them to be when I get ready to send it! Tutorial: Making Napkin Cards

Here is a fun tried and true old fashioned card making technique. Long before we had all these sumptuous patterned papers we had gorgeous napkins! For depth of color and interesting texture, you can't beat them especially for the money! Most you you may have done these so this will be an ‘Oh Yeah’ moment! Have fun! You can start with any size paper napkin - I like to pick min up at Tuesday Morning, they have a wonderful selection and are usually marked down Separate the printed surface from the tissue backing - these napkins are usually 3 layers I cut my panels to fit a light weight piece of cardstock I drizzled glue on the card stock and then added my napkin panel I found it was easier to keep the light and floaty napkin on the table and then place the gluey paper on it Gently smoothed it a little bit - remember the napkin layer is very fragile I gave it a few minutes to set up and the just added a puddle of Lineco glue. How To Restore A Vintage Rubber Stamp

I have a lovely Vintage  Magenta Cat Stamp, I'm not sure of the exact year of release, but I'm pretty sure it is about 20 years old, It appears to be in perfect condition.   But on inspection, I can feel that the rubber has gotten a little dry and "tough" and what that means is that I won't get a good impression from it.  I bet you have run into the same thing with some of your older stamps!  Don't toss the stamp, there is a way to restore them pretty easily! I have on hand the little sanding blocks you can buy for about $2.00 at the hardware store.  The are very handy in the craft room!  I gave this stamp a vigorous rubbing and then wiped off the dust with a damp wipe Next a coat of glycerin - a $4.00 drugstore item - you can also re-ink your embossing/resist pad with this! Let it sit over night and then wipe with a damp towel.  Your stamp should have that nice soft rubber texture.  Now the ink will sit on the rubber!  I inked up
