Steves' Great idea

I am very fortunate to have all the re-inkers for the complete set of Spectrum Noir markers, Tim Holtz distress , Stayzon, Encore and Memento ink pads.  That is a whole lot of little bottles to try and find a home for !  It was also a pain to try to find a marker refill, 168 bottles in one tub. I could order the refill and get it faster on Amazon!  ( My oldest son would say something like "extreme problems of the 1st world").  I think the inks refills were the last thing I needed to get organized, I was talking about it to Steve and he said "how about those over the door clear shoe holders?  Brilliant and perfect!
So I ordered 3 from Amazon:



There isn't any space left in my room other than the door so I put the holders on the giant closet slider behind my desk.


Next I had to decide how to organize these. I first thought I would put all the bottles in order


Then I thought , well that will take all night!
So using the order that the pens are stored in


I put Stickies up on the plastic pockets


then just pulled them from the containers.


What I didn't count on was the weight of these 300+ bottles.  After getting it half full I checked the slide on the door, and it wasn't working very well!
So I went to plan B and put them on the back of my hall door.
  They are all in order , the lower rows are the ink pad re-inkers and I have them in order by company and then by ROYGBVB.


Total cost $17.00!!

Mm just glad I don't have that many sis, I have about a dozen, half alcohol half dye and that's quite enough for me...

But for a gal who has heaps ... well just brilliant Steve :)

Tutorial: Making Napkin Cards

Here is a fun tried and true old fashioned card making technique. Long before we had all these sumptuous patterned papers we had gorgeous napkins! For depth of color and interesting texture, you can't beat them especially for the money! Most you you may have done these so this will be an ‘Oh Yeah’ moment! Have fun! You can start with any size paper napkin - I like to pick min up at Tuesday Morning, they have a wonderful selection and are usually marked down Separate the printed surface from the tissue backing - these napkins are usually 3 layers I cut my panels to fit a light weight piece of cardstock I drizzled glue on the card stock and then added my napkin panel I found it was easier to keep the light and floaty napkin on the table and then place the gluey paper on it Gently smoothed it a little bit - remember the napkin layer is very fragile I gave it a few minutes to set up and the just added a puddle of Lineco glue. How To Restore A Vintage Rubber Stamp

I have a lovely Vintage  Magenta Cat Stamp, I'm not sure of the exact year of release, but I'm pretty sure it is about 20 years old, It appears to be in perfect condition.   But on inspection, I can feel that the rubber has gotten a little dry and "tough" and what that means is that I won't get a good impression from it.  I bet you have run into the same thing with some of your older stamps!  Don't toss the stamp, there is a way to restore them pretty easily! I have on hand the little sanding blocks you can buy for about $2.00 at the hardware store.  The are very handy in the craft room!  I gave this stamp a vigorous rubbing and then wiped off the dust with a damp wipe Next a coat of glycerin - a $4.00 drugstore item - you can also re-ink your embossing/resist pad with this! Let it sit over night and then wipe with a damp towel.  Your stamp should have that nice soft rubber texture.  Now the ink will sit on the rubber!  I inked up
