How to turn a thought in to something tangible?

How to turn a thought in to something tangible?   People write music, they paint pictures and create great works of art. But how do you express words into needle work?  And Not just words but worship?

With so much going on around here right now ( all good things) I found myself singing this psalm:

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
From Psalm 103

The 103rd psalm is a beautiful affirmation of Gods love for us, through all the stages of our life - it starts out with king David speaking this to the Lord.

Plus I can remember the words and tune together. Tune and words together has been a life long challenge.

I wanted to make a gift for a special friend that would become a frame for this verse.  What a challenge!   I'm not even sure what this will end up as!  But I'm starting it out as a Crazy Quilt Block.  I am praying for this person while I stitch:

I'll show you my progress as this develops.  this is the naked block about 8.5x8.5  The best part will be the verse in the center.  I have been doing this in cards for years, but this is my first attempt in embroidery.  I'm a little daunted by it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Love that Psalm Ginny, and now I am humming the song - I am looking forward to seeing how you progress on this.
