a quick tip

I started my Needlepoint canvas on Friday and quickly ran into trouble.  
My threads were getting caught on the raw edges;
Remember, I'm a beginner, It's been 35 years since I have done  needlepoint

So I folded the edge under and then used ATG tape to secure it.


 then used ATG tape to secure it.



Well that did not work
So I quit being so lazy and threaded my sewing machine and stitched it down with a basting stitch






and that worked perfectly!

Oh yes, those pesky edges!! I have seen masking tape used to great advantage on the edges, folded over it rather than holding a folded edge down.

Ya know I remember seeing tape on photos of other peoples needle point, I just didn't realize it was tape, Thanks Maxine, I will do that on my next tapestry!!
